Situated in Manhattan’s exclusive Upper East Side, the Pierre Hotel Penthouse is the most expensive U.S. penthouse ever registered as purchased. The luxurious penthouse sprawls across the building’s 41st, 42nd, and 43rd floors and includes a number of intricate architectural features, including cathedral windows, 17th century fireplaces, 23-foot-high ceilings, and a grand wooden staircase with 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline, Central Park, and the Hudson River. The opulent residence boasts a total of 16 rooms, including five en suite bedrooms and six bathrooms. There is also ample outdoor living space spread across four exterior terraces. The penthouse also boasts a number of nonconventional opulent amenities, including several $1 million marble statutes and a Swedish sauna that reportedly cost more than $1.5 million to build. There is an ongoing $47,000 monthly maintenance fee for this penthouse, which covers electricity and two housekeeping staff.

This $95 million apartment is situated in Manhattan’s renowned Sherry Netherland complex in New York. The actual complex was built in 1927 and converted into residential suites in the 1950s. The residence has been attracting famous residents, such as Diana Ross and Charlie Ross, over the past 50 years, but it’s the complex’s penthouse that is really the pinnacle of the building. The opulent penthouse residence boasts a luxury library, a spacious terrace, and stunning views of Central Park. However, residents do need pay a $54,000 monthly maintenance fee to keep this apartment in good shape, a fee that covers daily housekeeping, 24-hour concierge, and room service.
