Castle Kashan is a 10,000-square-foot castle in Malibu, California. The castle is the home of Lilly Lawrence, the world renowned beauty and Malibu philanthropist, the daughter of a former Iranian oil minister.

Castle Kashan is the only Castle in Malibu, it was built in the late 1970’s by Dr. Thomas Hodges and was used as a setting for shows such as The Rockford Files. Lawrence bought the home in 1998 for around $3 million. The six-bedroom castle sits on 2.5 acres and has beautiful ocean views. She occasionally rents out Castle Kashan for weddings and events like the Malibu Film Festival.

UPDATE: This structure was lost to the 2007 Malibu fires. Several works of art, Lawrence family heirlooms, signed photos from U.S. presidents and many other collections were not recovered. Malibu’s beloved landmark will be missed along with its colorful history and the priceless memorabilia, but the memories of better times live on through Lawrence, who was considered by her neighbors, the heart of the castle.
