Michael Jackson was known as the “King of Pop” and for a good reason. He was the artists that has been awarded more awards than any other, living or dead, including 13 Grammys and 26 American Music Awards.. While he passed away in 2009, his net worth continues to climb, estimated at around $2 billion as of this writing, most of which came after his death. Things that contribute to the net worth of the Michael Jackson estate are 50 million albums sold from “Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour (put out after his death,) profits from his stake in Sony, and selling a portion of the rights to 250 Beatles songs to Sony. Michael Jackson has made more money than any other deceased artist. The youngest brother of 5, he began his musical career as the lead singer for the Jackson 5 in the 1960’s.  In the 1980’s, he hit his stride to become the premiere artist in the Pop genre, with his video “Thriller” released in 1982. It is the only music video ever nominated for an Academy Award in the Short Film category. Michael Jackson’s famous Neverland estate was sold in 2008 and his Holmby Hills home (a French Chateau style home) was sold in his estate sale. Singer, Dancer and Songwriter, Michael Jackson also had acting roles, such as the Scarecrow in 1978’s The Wiz and Captain EO filmed for Disney 1986. He also did many cameos, the most famous is the one of himself in Men In Black II in 2002. At his death, Michael Jackson had a total of 75 vehicles, including a very opulent Rolls Royce Seraph limo.
