The signs of the famous

StarMap computes the birth charts of well-known people: 6,194 charts from sourced birth dates and places, 356 with a sourced birth time (Astro-Databank, Rodden AA, A or B). These are the numbers. Quote freely with a link; the methodology is at the bottom.

Sun signs among the famous

Counted over the 5,987 people whose Sun sign is certain; the 207 born on a day the Sun changed sign, with no known birth time, are left out. An even split would be 8.3% each. The top sign: Aries at 8.9%; the rarest: Sagittarius at 7.5%.

Celebrity couples

Wikidata records marriages and partnerships with their dates; it does not record whether a couple is together today. So couples are grouped by what it records: 60 marriages with a wedding date, no end date and no death recorded for either spouse, and 411 relationships with an end date on every listing (Wikidata gives a divorce, a separation, a death or no cause). The other 93 are in neither group: 77 unmarried partnerships with no end date, 6 marriages with no wedding date, 3 marriages with no end date in which a spouse has since died, 5 marriages whose end date Wikidata gives in conflicting ways and 2 couples whose marriage has an end date but who are also listed as partners with none.

• 564 couples scored. Marriages with no end recorded average a sky match of 67.2; relationships with an end recorded average 66.7.
• 21 couples share a Moon sign: 2 are marriages with no end recorded and 17 have an end recorded.
• 46 couples share a Sun sign: 8 are marriages with no end recorded and 35 have an end recorded.

A shared sign counts only when neither person’s sign depends on an unknown birth time.

Method

People: Wikidata entries with a day-precision birth date and a birth place with coordinates, in acting, music, sport, business, film, media and politics. Sun signs use the tropical zodiac; people born on a day the Sun changed sign, with no known birth time, have no certain Sun sign and are not counted. Birth times come from Astro-Databank, Rodden AA (a birth record), A (the person or their family) and B (a biography) only. Couples: Wikidata spouse and partner statements within the set, with the dates Wikidata holds. Sky match is StarMap’s synastry score (0 to 100) from the aspects between two charts; it measures how much two charts interact, not relationship quality.
