The summer is not over yet! And it’s the best season for sitting back, relaxing and sipping your favorite cocktail. Mixing drinks is and old art, but still a very enjoyable one. Of course the famous people enjoy cocktails too – from Johnny Depp, to John Travolta, Jennifer Aniston and Kim Kardashian, the stars all have their guilty pleasures. But who drinks what and what are the best cocktails of the summer? Check out our list of the top 10 favorite drinks of the rich and famous.

1. Kim Kardashian – White Russian

Kanye’s wife Kim is a fan of the White Russian, a very well-known cocktail made with vodka, Kahlua and half & half cream.

Recipe: 1 ½ oz vodka, ¾ oz coffee liqueur, ¾ oz cream. Pour the vodka, the coffee liqueur and cream into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Stir well. This cocktail has many variations.

2. Bono – Jack Daniels

No cocktails for this singer. U2’s front man likes it plain and simple. Jack Daniels is the most famous and the most sold Whiskey in the world.

3. Madonna and Oprah Winfrey – Pomegranate Martini

The queen of pop enjoys a girly drink, and so does Oprah, the queen of talk shows. Two queens and one drink.

Recipe: 2 oz of citrus vodka, ½ oz fresh lemon juice, ¼ oz fresh pomegranate juice, 1 oz simple syrup.

4. John Travolta – Bombay Sapphire Martini

He sings and dances (sometimes while acting), and he also enjoys a strong martini made with Bombay Sapphire gin. Classic and refreshing.

Recipe: 3 oz iced bombay blue sapphire gin, 1/8 oz dry vermouth, 3 olives or 1 large capers and 6 ice cubes. Chill your martini glass in the freezer for 10 minutes or fill with ice cubes and cold water to chill; Place ice cubes in a metal shaker top with gin and shake very very very well; Pour vermouth into chilled glass and swirl to coat glass then discard vermouth or use for the next glass; Strain very well shaken gin into glass and garnish with olives.

5. Johnny Depp – Blueberry & Ginger Bourbon Sour

Johnny Depp makes women sigh, and he does it even better with a drink in hand. His usual cocktail of choice is Blueberry & Ginger Bourbon Sour (you can see him enjoy this cocktail in The Tourist).

Recipe: Bourbon sour with blueberry and ginger.

6. Jennifer Aniston – Margarita

One of the most feminine cocktails. Jen drank it while filming Friends, and still enjoys margaritas today.

Recipe: 1 1/2 oz tequila; 1/2 oz premium triple sec (preferably Cointreau); 1 oz lime juice. Rum the rim of a cocktail glass with lime juice, and dip in salt. Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into the glass, and serve.

7. Jay Z – Armand de Brignac Champagne

Not exactly a cocktail guy, Beyoncé’s husband prefers it classy. This expensive French champagne is sold in gold and silver metallic bottles and is also known as “the ace of spades”.

8. Queen Elizabeth II – Gin and Dubonnet

Her Majesty’s favorite cocktail is made with gin, as any british woman’s favorite drink should be. A royal cocktail.

Recipe: 2 parts Dubonnet Rouge, 1 part Gordon’s Gin; 1 slice Lemon; 2 ice cubes, plus more for shaker . Fill a bar shaker with ice, add ingredients, stir and strain into cocktail glass. Top with lemon wedge and two ice cubes.

9. George Lucas – Old Fashioned

The Star Wars creator enjoys one of the oldest cocktails dating back to the 1800’s.

Recipe: 2 oz bourbon whiskey; 2 dashes Angostura® bitters; 1 splash water; 1 tsp sugar; 1 maraschino cherry; 1 orange wedge. Mix sugar, water and angostura bitters in an old-fashioned glass. Drop in a cherry and an orange wedge. Muddle into a paste using a muddler or the back end of a spoon. Pour in bourbon, fill with ice cubes, and stir.

10. J. K. Rowling – Gin and Tonic

The Harry Potter author likes it classic. Gin is the unofficial drink of Britain, so it suits J.K. Rowling well. Her favorite fictional drink is, of course, butterbeer.

Recipe: Place ice cubes in a tall, narrow, chilled glass (the cubes should come near the top.) Add the gin, then the tonic water, then the lime juice, stirring well. Garnish with lime wedge, and serve immediately.
