Famous Vietnamese chef Helene An, the founder of Asian Fusion cuisine, serves up her tightly-guarded, secret family recipes at Crustacean. Known for Euro-Asian fare, the restaurant dishes up such favorites as its Charbroiled Colossal Royal Tiger Prawns with her signature garlic noodles, and Whole Main Lobster Mango Salad with miso dressing. The Crustacean cultivates a vibe of exclusivity, and is famous for its “secret kitchen.” Only members of the An family and their most trusted chefs are allowed inside. The decor is sleek and sophisticated, with modern Asian-inspired art and red velvet chairs. A favorite choice of celebrities, the restaurant has a VIP passageway which leads to private dining rooms upstairs. One place the stars are not allowed, however, is the kitchen. Even Oprah was reportedly denied a tour of the kitchen when she visited this popular Beverly Hills restaurant.
