Selena Gomez’s birth chart

Born before about 09:10: Sun in Cancer

With the Sun in Cancer, Selena Gomez is likely to feel most alive when caring for people and places that matter to them, and purpose is tied to belonging somewhere. Feeling unneeded is the sore spot for this placement, and it can be taken personally. The whole day may go better after checking in on someone they love.

Born after about 09:10: Sun in Leo

Purpose for Selena is probably tied to creating and being seen doing it, and a Leo Sun's vitality rises the moment there is an audience, even an audience of one. The tension is losing steam when no one is watching. The giveaway is often the extra effort that goes into something the moment someone notices them making it.

Born before about 16:35: Moon in Aries

The Moon in Aries keeps day-to-day needs simple: something to do right now, and permission to feel it and move on. For Selena, comfort probably comes from action rather than discussion. The instinct of this Moon is to pace the room or go for a walk rather than sit with a feeling until it passes on its own.

Born after about 16:35: Moon in Taurus

A Taurus Moon needs routine, familiar food and physical comfort to feel steady from day to day. A sudden change of schedule probably unsettles Selena more than they let on. A good bed, a favourite mug or the same coffee order can turn an unsteady morning around.

Mercury in Leo gives Selena a mind that thinks in confident, story-shaped terms and communicates with warmth and a bit of flair, drawing people in even when the subject is dry. Attachment to being right can make Selena more persuasive than accurate. A simple update, in their hands, can become something closer to a performance.

Venus in Leo loves generously and openly, and values being someone's clear favourite above almost anything else on offer. For Selena, the tension this suggests is needing steady reassurance of still being adored. Their gestures tend to be grand and thoughtful, and it can sting when those go unnoticed.

Mars in Taurus acts deliberately and sticks with a course once chosen, and its anger builds slowly but takes a long time to cool once it arrives. At times Selena may dig in out of stubbornness rather than conviction. It takes real provocation to make this Mars snap, and the rattled feeling tends to last a while afterwards.

Jupiter in Virgo finds its growth in mastering a craft in unglamorous detail, one small correction at a time. For Selena, perfectionism may be the excess, turning growth into an endless list of corrections. People with this Jupiter are often trusted with more responsibility than they feel they deserve, usually because the care in the work shows.

With Saturn in Aquarius, Selena's discipline probably gathers around belonging to a group on their own terms; it is the placement of the one-time outsider. The doubt means holding back the stranger ideas until there is no risk of mockery. The outsider often ends up as a trusted voice in exactly the kind of community that once seemed unlikely to accept them.

Many people within a few years of Selena's age share Uranus in Capricorn, the mark of a generation that dismantles and rebuilds old institutions and structures of authority. Personally, that can mean scepticism towards any system that asks for trust without having shown why it deserves it.

Neptune in Capricorn is shared by Selena and about fourteen years of births. The imagination of the generation questions or idealises authority and ambition, often shaped by wide disillusionment with institutions. The personal version may be an uneasy relationship with conventional success.

Pluto is at home in Scorpio, and the generation born with it lives through profound upheavals in power, secrecy and shared taboos. Selena's own share may be an unusually deep comfort with intensity that others would find overwhelming.
