10 Most Expensive Maseratis Of All Time

July 1, 2014

The Maserati: It’s fast, it’s powerful, and it’s utterly luxurious. Founded in 1914, Maserati is the oldest sports car manufacturer in existence. The brand was eventually acquired by Ferrari and later Fiat, and today it still operates under the Fiat helm. It continues to pioneer innovative concept cars that impress racers, collectors, and investors alike. As one of the most expensive supercars on the face of the planet, Maseratis are hand-built luxury sports cars specially designed to be the fastest racing cars in their class. Although the company is primarily known for building stunning race cars, Maserati has also steadily gained notoriety for its road cars. It’s becoming increasingly common to see these emblems of speed and luxury blazing around wealthy neighborhoods in cities like Los Angeles and Miami. Of course, Maserati speed and elegance comes at a price, and Maseratis are regularly ranked among the most expensive cars in the world. Let’s take a look at the 10 most expensive cars this iconic luxury car brand has ever had on the market.

1. Maserati MC12: $2.85 million.

Maserati originally intended for the MC12 to be a hand-build, limited edition sports car, with a mere 25 units on the market. However, as the first road-legal, mid-engine grand touring car Maserati had designed since the early 1980s, the car garnered an incredible amount of attention. The model was so popular that it completely sold out before it was officially introduced at the 2004 Geneva motor show, and Maserati subsequently ended up building another 25 units in 2005.

Next: 2. Maserati MC12 Corsa: $2.1 million.
