As Dr. Dre prepares to move into the prominent Brentwood area, Reese Witherspoon and her husband, Jim Toth are preparing to move out. In a low profile move, the couple has listed their Brentwood mansion for sale with a price tag of $14 million. The home is located on a cul-de-sac in the celebrity community of Brentwood Circle. The Spanish style home which is constructed on a double lot is quite a unique listing on the housing market.
The Home Design
The guard gated home offers substantial amounts of privacy, beautiful gardens, open spaces and detailed floor plans for the interior and exterior of the home. Reese and her husband acquired the properties in December 2003 and December 2013 at a combined cost of a bit more than $11 million. The total size of the lot is approximately 1.3 acres with all 3 parcels included.
Plans to Prosper
Reese’s decision to list their longtime family home for sale is one that has drawn much speculation as to the reason why. She’s no stranger to the real estate market and how it can sometimes cause you to come out with less than you invested. This lesson she learned with her previous sale of the Ojai ranch, which was sold at half of its original listing price. The sale of that property cost her a $1 million loss. She’s hoping for a much better outcome with this one, especially with the special characteristics and unique features that the home has to offer. It is possible that Reese has her eyes set on a property between Santa Monica and Malibu.
