Project Los Angeles is making a big splash in the Los Angeles nightclub scene. Headed by Boulevard Nightlife Group and Project London, Project Club LA has become one of the most popular hotspots in Los Angeles since the nightlife venue was launched on June 20.
“We want to immerse our guest in that kind of fun you have when you have no cares in the world,” said Freddy Braidi, managing partner for the Los Angeles-based Boulevard Nightlife Group. “We want our guests to completely forget all their cares and worries, their past and future, and for the time they are with us, just exist in the now, in the present.”
And true to form, Project Club LA has caught the attention of many nightlife revelers frequenting the Los Angeles area. Go there at night and you’re bound to see long lines of people eagerly waiting to enter the venue for a night of drinking, dancing, mingling, and who knows what else. One thing is clear: when you’re in Project Club LA, having fun is all that matters. Interestingly enough, Project Club LA’s address is at 6356 Hollywood Blvd, the exact same spot where the iconic and now-defunct 80’s era nightclub Roxbury was located.
To call Project Los Angeles edgy and futuristic is pretty spot on but limiting. The nightclub has a unique aesthetic that adds a trance-like quality to the nightclub experience, and due credit has to go to the award-winning architectural firm Gensler. This exemplary architectural vision is complemented by V Squared Labs’s mesmerizing light shows and striking visuals.
The venue’s exterior features a classic medieval design, which is interesting on account of its stark contrast with the futuristic and slightly proto-punk atmosphere you get subjected to once you enter the premises. For all intents and purposes, the effect is made more profound because of it. As soon as the party starts, a heady stew of aural and visual insanity ensues. The consistent dark-blue palette, the neon-streaked dancefloor, the laser light shows, and the blinking light panels all combine to take you into a mesmerizing world where dance, music, and having fun are the only rules that apply. The LED screens placed along the brick walls serve to augment the overall effect. Not far from the dance floor is Project London’s signature horizontal glowing cross that serves as a platform where beautiful women are regularly seen dancing to their heart’s content.
The bar itself is quite a visual spectacle thanks to the wide and luxurious bar counter and the garish wine display at the back where each bottle is showcased in a blue-lit enclosure. The selection of cocktails is just as interesting, having names such as Aphrodite, Pomegranate Passion, Berry Bomber, and – dare I say it – the much-revered F*ck Me I’m Famous (“A tongue tingling shot of cinnamon Fireball served with popping candy”)! Knowing Los Angeles’s reputation as a Hollywood capital, that last one is going to be especially popular with the locals.
Project Los Angeles nightclub is not only about having fun as the people behind the project also established an incentive where 2% of each transaction made in the venue is donated to 12 pre-selected charities.
